Student Finance, made clearer
These 2026/27 figures apply to eligible full-time students in England starting before 1 January 2027. Your entitlement depends on you, the course and the provider.
Understand what the loan can cover, how applications work and when repayments may begin.
Eligible students can apply for support with course fees and day-to-day living costs.
The two loans go to different places and are used for different costs.
For the 2026/27 tax year, the Plan 5 repayment threshold is £25,000.
Some full-time students can reduce travel and Council Tax costs, subject to eligibility.
